Rodgers’ second band, Bad Company, was formed with Mick Ralphs, a former Mott the Hoople guitarist. Rodgers’ Free comrades, drummer Simon Kirke, and Boz Burrell, former King Crimson singer and bassist, were featured in the cast.

Paul said he and Ralph were still trying to come up with a name for the band, “and all I said was Bad Company’, and there was that crackling noise, and he said, ‘Shit, I dropped the phone – that’s it!'”

The first act signed to Led Zeppelin’s new record label, Swan Song, was Bad Company. Feel Like Makin’Love, Can’t Get Enough, Shooting Star, Bad Company, and Run with the Pack were among their many songs during their tour from 1973 to 1982.

On numerous tunes, Rodgers played instruments: “Bad Company” and “Run With The Pack” had him on the piano, “Rock and Roll Fantasy” featured him on the guitar, and the ballad “Seagull” featured him on all instruments.
